Smoking weed in the salon parking lot before your appointment has become blase’ nowadays because let’s face it, the beauty pro about to do your service most likely just smoked it out back of the salon in preparation of their long work day.
When dealing with the public, you gotta do what you gotta do to get thru it….especially when your day could involve all sorts of high stressors ranging from cranky clients unloading their personal problems on you one after another after another for 8–12 straight hours all the way to customers running away without paying for their services or worse yet, robbing you at gunpoint of your hard earned money.
Back in the day confrontations used to be an extremely rare occurrence because people were raised with manners & had reasonable dispositions. Most people were polite to each other & if your service didn’t meet your expectations, the client & the beauty pro worked out an amenable solution OR the client found a different service provider (& smeared the beauty pros name all over town).
Nowadays it’s not common to have the police involved to de-escalate the salon drama as if it were a critical hostage situation. Just get on TikTok & search “nail salon drama” to see exactly what I’m talking about. Many people have no filter on their mouth, lack complete self control that adults should possess & behave in uncouth ways that were unimaginable just a decade ago. They simply do not care what they say or whose feelings it hurts, nor how bad it reflects upon them as an individual person.
