Part 2: shocking true nail salon stories that’ll make you blush, cringe & laugh!
Picking up where we left off last month in the opening “What the Nail Tech Heard & Saw” are 10 more off the chain, real life scenarios that working nail techs have experienced on the job.
Their responses were to my initial Facebook post: “What’s the most shocking thing a client ever said to you?”.
After 35 yrs working as a nail tech in big cities & small towns all across America, not much shocks me any more (some of these came close tho, like the one about the mice feet). This is a glimpse of what nail techs have to deal with while providing beauty services & I have no doubt based on what I’ve seen/experienced that these are not fabrications.

Lynda B. — “A client in her late 70’s brought in the book “The Joy of Sex”. She told me she tied her husband up & put on rubber gloves to probe his nether region. Btw she looked like Miss Gulch in the “Wizard of Oz”.
“A client told me her husband was part alien & she was serious.” — Tabitha S.
Jody B. — “My client told me that she was Bi-sexual & I didn’t have to worry about her coming on to me, because I was not her type. She said she likes big women & I was too small.”
“His church asked him to stay away from children’s church & he didn’t even do anything yet! Girl, I didn’t know what to say, I just hurried his pedi & got him out of there. The other tech was telling him how we have a security door to keep the weirdos out, in my head I was thinking he IS the Weirdos!” — Yvonne S.
The rest of the story:
He never came back, thank goodness! That was just the tip of the iceberg for that guy. He also was telling me about his Babe that was “about to get out” even though he dropped charges! All of this information was voluntary, I was not trying to engage & wanted him out of my chair! He was a walk in!
O.P. — “When she was receiving a pedicure from me & she said “I’m not wearing any panties”.
“Why she left her last nail tech… she used glue traps to catch mice & when she caught them she would use scissors to cut the paws off the mice & throw them still alive with no feet outside because she wanted to reuse the traps to save money.” — Jeri W

Rachael G. — “My client once told me, in full detail, about how her uterus fell out. She also told me about her doctors visits, how they didn’t believe her at first. How she finally got the diagnosis of a prolapsed uterus by standing up, spreading her legs, pointing at the area in question, and exclaiming “Look! Do you see it now?”
“Had a brand new client come in & tell me all of her deepest secrets in the first 15 or so minutes. About her daughter being molested & things I would not normally spew off meeting someone new. But what really took the cake, was the fact that she told me she had a breast reduction & grabbed my hand to feel her breast. I was horrified & never rebooked her again.” — Jade D.
